Back in 1997, the lifeless body of Nadia Iverson was found inside a duplex in downtown Las Vegas with a single gunshot wound to her head. Twenty years after the crime, ex-police officer Arthur Lee Sewall Jr. was taken to be the primary suspect in the crime, therefore putting the case back on track towards a possible conclusion.
Sewall, an ex-police officer of the Metropolitan Police Department, has been into a lot of criminal activities before being charged with Iverson’s case. He was caught abusing his badge’s power and forcing women to perform sexual acts on him while on duty.
The former officer’s r*pe kit was sent to the department for testing back in March 2016. But they only discovered his connection to Iverson a year later.
Further investigation and the suspect’s statements strengthened their case against Arthur Lee Sewall Jr. The defendant’s warrant contained excerpts of his admission.
“During the interview, he admitted to engaging Iverson in sex for money. During their sexual encounter, Iverson was shot. Sewall couldn’t account for why his gun was out or pointed at Iverson. He knew she was shot in the head and he immediately fled the scene.”
However, a report said that Iverson ran away with a guy she dated before her demise. After her boyfriend was arrested for a crime, Iverson began selling her assets on the streets and that was when she met the suspect. Unfortunately, she was unaware of his violent and sadistic tendencies.
Now, Arthur Lee Sewall Jr. is due to be back in court this March. His judge, Harmony Letizia, has appointed a public defender to represent the victim.
