Does the name Ana Maria Orozco ring any bells? You might remember her from the massively popular Colombian telenovela “Yo Soy Betty, La Fea” which aired in the Philippines back in 2001-2002. Ana played the titular character of Betty, an unattractive yet highly skilled economist who worked as a secretary for a fashion company.
Today, Ana Maria Orozco looks much different than how we remember. When she was playing Betty, Ana had to look the part. She dressed down and looked plain as can be. She had braces and sported weird-looking bangs.
However, her true form actually looks stunning. Let’s take a look below.
Gorgeous, wouldn’t you agree? Truly a far cry from when she was Betty.
The 44-year-old actress remains active in her native land of Colombia, where she has starred in countless telenovelas and films. She even reprised her iconic role as Betty by performing onstage for “Betty en Teatro.” Ana Maria Orozco’s illustrious career includes roles on “Amas de Casa Desesperadas” (2006), “Perro Amor” (1998), and “Somos Familia” (2014).
Ana Maria Orozco made her first television appearance alongside her actor father, Luis Fernando Orozco on “La envidia” in 1973. Her first proper role was on the Colombian children’s variety show “Pequeños Gigantes” in 1983.
Ana has gone through some ups and downs in her personal life. In 1999, she got married to fellow Colombian celebrity Julian Arango. Unfortunately, their union only lasted a mere 10 months. She found love once again when she got married to Argentine musician Martin Quaglia in 2005. They were together until 2012, during which time they produced two lovely daughters, Lucrecia and Mia.

Isn’t she stunning? It’s hard to believe this beautiful woman once played the role of an ugly duckling. It just goes to show that makeup and clothes can work wonders when it comes to altering a person’s appearance.
